Falling Leaves
by Adeline Yen Mah
There are two very similar books by Adeline Yen Mah. Chinese Cinderella is a children's book, Falling Leaves is for adults. Falling Levaes has won some awards, covers a bit more history, tells the story of her life until her father's death (the first ends when she goes to college), but is less detailed in the story-telling. I'm not sure who recommended this book, or which one they ment, but after reading both, I would recommend Chinese Cinderella as a better story, although it leaves you wanting to read her other book to find out the end of the story.
